Where to Eat Gluten-Free In Shenandoah Valley

When my gluten-free son and I visited Shenandoah National Park, finding safe and delicious dining options was a top priority. A common pitfall for gluten-free travelers is relying solely on menus instead of asking about kitchen practices to avoid cross-contamination. To make your National Park vacation worry-free, I’ve compiled a list of tried-and-true restaurants.

Restaurants with Gluten-Free Options near Shenandoah National Park

Pollock Dining Room at Skyland offers a rich GF menu for lunch and dinner (not too many options for breakfast though). All GF items are marked on the menu. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the views are incredible!

West Main Market Beer and Wine Garden – even though we couldn’t find any signs of gluten free food marked on the menu itself, it turned out to be a delicious place for lunch. They did have gluten-free bread and the sandwiches were delicious. As always talk to the server about cross-contamination.

Ciro’s Italian Eatery – The restaurant’s gluten-free menu is incredible—pizza, pasta, and even chocolate cake! My son went for the pizza, while I tried their gluten-free pasta with a side salad. Both were delicious. Also, our server was so friendly and made us feel right at home, even going out of her way to check on cross-contamination precautions for us. If you’re in the Shenandoah area, do yourself a favor and stop here. My son still talks about that pizza, a memory I’ll cherish forever.

The Speakeasy Bar & Restaurant – It was the perfect way to end our day. I ordered the bistro filet, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and paired with delicious sides. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about gluten-free options, making the experience stress-free. The cozy, vintage vibe added to the charm.

There are many more restaurants with gluten-free options in the area but these were the ones we tried.
